Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and managing our strong data infrastructure, improving ETL workflows, and ensuring data is accurate and accessible across different platforms. We are seeking a skilled data specialist with practical experience and a solid background in data engineering, data governance, and cloud platform expertise.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Architector in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Extensive experience with MySQL, Redis, and Snowflake with a demonstrated ability to optimize SQL queries, build scalable data pipelines, and develop dimensional and relational database models.
- Strong skills in Python for scripting and data transformation tasks.
- Knowledge of database security protocols and developing data governance frameworks and security policies.
- Experience in data lineage and compliance monitoring.
- Proficient in tools such as SSIS, Bash, SQL, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and DevOps practices, including tools like Rundeck and Oozie.
- Proficiency in using tools Enterprise Architect and Visio.
- Practical experience with BI tools like Looker and Sigma for developing user-friendly analytics.
- Highly skilled in creating and improving SQL queries for better performance.
- Experience in reviewing slow query logs and improving query performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good oral and written English is a must.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, and Glue).
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, version control (GitHub).
- Proven experience of mentoring and guiding engineering and analytics teams, managing accurate metadata, and ensuring adherence to data governance policies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the performance, accessibility, and security of MySQL and Redis databases to ensure optimal operation and reliability.
- Review slow query logs, develop migrations to enhance queries, and implement indexes as needed for optimization.
- Help integrate and manage Snowflake for the data warehouse operations.
- Quickly identify and fix database problems.
- Create and update documentation for database procedures and setups.
- Work together with the development team to create and enhance database structures for optimal performance.
- Design and manage ETL pipelines to streamline data workflows.
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure secure and compliant data processing.
- Monitor data lineage to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS) and automation tools such as Rundeck and Oozie to manage and optimize data operations.
